We are licensed by the North and South Carolina Agricultural Industry to apply fertilizers commercially. Continuing Education of our personel is a requirement in order to sustain our license and to ensure we are up-to-date with all standards and procedures of the agricultural industry. We also work with suppliers across the nation who are heavily involved with leading universities and laboratory studies to remain on the cutting edge of treatment techniques and organic materials available to the agricultural industry. Understanding soil mechanics and soil profiling of our local area has enabled us to specialize in diagnosing specific problems within the piedmont region of the Carolinas. Having this understanding allows us to safely and effectively help improve not only the appearence of your landscape, but the overall health of your lawn.
Our Commitment to the Environment
Ample knowledge and precision equipment allows us to apply our fertilizers in an environmentally responsible manner. Even too much organic fertilizer can be detrimental to the environment. We are an organic based company, meaning the use of herbicides, pesticides and fungicides are recommended in certain situations. The key is to use synthetic ferilizers ONLY when needed and to use them safely and responsibly. For example, the over-use of phosphorus is a very contested topic amongst the agricultural industy. In fact, over 10 states have banned the sale or use of a phosphorus fertilizer. What people don't understand is that phosphorous is a naturally occuring mineral nutrient that is necessary for plant growth. It is an essential part of photosythesis and helps plants mature properly. It is when farmers, homeowners and contractors use this fertilizer irresponsibly that problems begin to occur. Organic LawnsTM uses little to zero phosphorous within its fertilizers UNLESS a soil test provided by a certified lab indicates the soil is phosphorous deficient. This is just one example of how Organic LawnsTM is committed to our environment.
